The Green Party is the only elected political party to offer an alternative, fully worked-out, long term solution for defecit reduction that completely avoids austerity and debilitating cuts to public services, which puts people first before profit and is sustainable for the long term.The solution is the Green New Deal (GND): “Joined up policies to solve the triple crunch of the credit crisis, climate change and high oil prices.”The GND calls for greater financial regulation and a redefinition of the goals of macroeconomic policy, focusing far more on improving the quality of life and reducing our carbon footprint.
